LIFE PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER OF SCOTTS PROJECT TRUST (last updated 2020)

Jill is actively involved with Scotts.

In 1990, Jill and Denis Scott had a dream to build a residential home where adults with a learning disability could live and work together.

This project was born out of the experience when their daughter, Henny, was forced to live many miles away due to lack of high quality facilities closer to home.

Their aim was for a caring community of adults, who would benefit from a structured environment designed to help them reach their full potential through learning and leisure.

Therefore, Scotts was founded in 1990, registered as a charity in 1991 and appointed a Board of Trustees.

A three acre site, together with a superb hall in the style of a tithe barn, was donated to Scotts by Honegrove Properties Ltd and fundraising began in earnest.

We are extremely grateful to the Trustees and volunteers who ensure we are able to provide high-quality services to adults with learning disabilities.

Scotts Project Trust is a charity and there is no renumeration for our Trustees, who give their time voluntarily to help us meet our overall objectives.  The Board of Trustees is made up of individuals from a variety of backgrounds, and they oversee all aspects of our work.

19th January 2017

18425020 432483407116057 2718591241604235324 N13th May 2018 is the next Tonbridge Lions Club charity walk. A lovely way to raise funds for Scotts. 1f60a

Last year, 98 walkers took part on either a five-mile or ten-mile walk, starting and ending at Shipbourne Village Hall, raising funds for 17 charity or community groups (including Scotts).

The shorter route took us via Dunk’s Green, Fairlawne Estate, Ightham Mote, Wilmott Cottage, Budd’s Green, and Shipbourne Church. The longer route extended to Carter’s Hill and Underriver. Absolutely beautiful scenery.

Tonbridge Lions Club kindly plan and marshall the event and supporters of participating charities obtain their own sponsorship and do the walking! All of the sponsorship raised by individuals for their chosen charity goes to their cause.

We will have more details soon. Please email me, if you would like more information.
